The Provence Vallée campsite is located in the PACA region, an exceptional area with many unforgettable natural and tourist sites to discover.

The citadel of Forcalquier

Forcalquier’s citadel offers breathtaking views over the picturesque landscapes of Provence. The town also boasts a listed cemetery. Its market, held every Monday morning, is the finest in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence region.

The city of Manosque

Authentic and full of character, the town of Manosque, birthplace of writer and screenwriter Jean Giono, offers exceptional medieval days every year.

The town of Lurs

The town of Lurs, built on a ridge and surrounded by olive groves, offers a sublime panorama of the Durance River.

The Verdon gorges

The Verdon gorges, located 50 minutes from the campsite, are reputed to be the most beautiful in Europe. Here you can enjoy a wide range of leisure activities: excursions, canyoning, rafting, pedal-boating, swimming… In the Gorges du Verdon, you can also go water rambling.

Other remarkable sites

Provence offers a multitude of other remarkable sites to discover: the Provencal “Colorado” near Roussillon, the village of Moustier Sainte-Marie famous for its earthenware, the Valensole plateau known for its lavender fields, Les Mées (incredible giant rocks), the village of Dauphin

The charm of Provencal villages

Take a stroll through the characterful Provencal villages and their markets, full of the flavors and scents of escape.

Lurs

At 20 km, enjoy an exceptional panorama overlooking the Durance Valley. Follow the highland trail to the Prieuré de Ganagobie (abbey founded in the Xᵉ century, still occupied by some twenty monks).

Dolphin

Just 15 km away, discover its narrow streets and ancient perched center, at the top of which you’ll find a church housing a very old organ.

Mane

20 km away, a village renowned for its local produce, discover its artisanal zone with various local producers (organicfood products …).

Banon

30 km away, visit the famous Le Bleuet bookshop and discover its famous goat’s cheese of the same name wrapped in chestnut leaves.

Walking tour of Manosque from the campsite

Discover the cultural heritage of Manosque, home of the famous writer Jean Giono.

In this historic Provencal town, visit its medieval center through two medieval gates. Stroll through its narrow streets and southern-flavored market.

Nearby, enjoy Lac Les Vannades, an artificial lake with supervised swimming and a wide range of activities (sailing, mini-golf, children’s games…).

Overlook the Durance valley from the top of the Mont d’Or hill, where the remains of the ancient keep are enthroned.

Finally, visit the L’Occitane factory in the artisanal zone and take advantage of reduced prices on their Provence-scented products.

Explore Valensole

Camping Provence Vallée is 15 km from Valensole and its endless lavender fields.

Come and discover our lavender festival in July. During the day, you’ll be able to see the lavender harvest, visit the distilleries and take part in a distillation session. A variety of activities will also be on offer to accompany this beautiful and enjoyable day.

Early July is an ideal time to observe this beautiful little blue flower.

Discover also the Corso de la Lavande in Digne les Bains in early August (magnificent fireworks, float parade, entertainment…).

What to see in Forcalquier

Forcalquier is 20 km from the campsite, with its magnificent panoramic view from the citadel, its listed cemetery and the most beautiful market in the Alpes de Hautes Provence on Monday mornings.

At the village distillery, you can savor Henri Bardouin pastis, flavored with a variety of plants and spices to satisfy your palate, as well as Provencal liqueurs and aperitifs.

Visit Le Couvent des Cordeliers and take advantage of its many workshops (perfume creation, discovery of essential oils, introduction to oenology) and finally, stroll through its splendid garden.
